Privacy Notice

This notice explains how we handle personal data when you use this website, subscribe to our list, or buy a product. We are Operating Bench, a trading name of Scribespire Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 15090317), registered office: 1 The Briars, Waterberry Drive, Waterlooville, Hants, PO7 7YH. We are the data controller.

What we collect

• If you subscribe: your email address, and the topic or sector you asked about.
• If you buy: your name, email, billing details and order record. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
• When you browse: privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not use cookies and do not identify you.

Why, and our lawful basis

• To send you updates you asked for (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link.
• To fulfil and support your purchase (performance of a contract).
• To keep the site secure and understand aggregate usage (legitimate interests), in a way that does not track individuals.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted processors to run the business: Stripe (payments), Beehiiv (email list), Amazon Web Services (SES, transactional email), and Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, email routing and cookieless analytics). They process data on our instructions. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep subscriber data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep order and tax records for as long as the law requires (generally six years).

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email privacy@operatingbench.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
